During my first pregnancy, I was a baby product marketers dream. I was totally sucked in by the adverts and celebrity endorsements in pregnancy magazines and the leaflets spilling out of my first Bounty pack.
I’m almost eight months in as a ‘mum of two’ and I’m still getting my head around using those simple three words to describe myself.
October is bittersweet. It has always been my favourite month because of my birthday. I really love birthdays. Because, well, presents. Jim always jokes that I actually have a birth week. I like to milk it.

D-day came and went last Wednesday and by Friday, at two days overdue, I was feeling pretty sorry for myself! My husband knows that the best way to improve my mood is by some kind of spontaneous gesture… usually involving delicious food that I haven’t had to cook.
…I’ve finished work. Cleaned the house from top to bottom. Repacked my hospital bag umpteen times. Seen the midwife. Reached and passed my due date (yesterday). Had an acupuncture session on said due date to hopefully kick things off. It hasn’t. I’m still waiting. Continue reading
